About Cooloola Coast Kart Club
Cooloola Coast Kart Club (CCKC) runs the Gympie Gold circuit at Runge Road near Gympie, in Queensland's Sunshine Coast hinterland about six kilometres from the Gympie CBD. The club held its first race meeting back in 2006 and today races a sealed circuit of roughly 890 metres. Importantly, this is a competition kart club rather than an arrive-and-drive hire venue — the club states plainly that it is not a hire-kart facility, so members race their own karts and need a Karting Australia driver licence plus club membership to take part. There's a friendly, family-oriented culture here with a healthy spread of Cadet, Junior and Senior 4SS racers among the grades. On-site camping makes it easy to turn a race weekend into a stay, and practice is available most days with bookings essential.
