About Gladstone Kart Club
Gladstone Kart Club is the home of grassroots kart racing in Central Queensland, running at South Trees since 1979. It is a member-based CIK affiliated club rather than an arrive-and-drive centre — racers compete in their own karts across Karting Australia categories — but the club actively welcomes newcomers through Fast Karts come-and-try sessions, so you do not need to own a kart to give it a go. Set on the side of a hill, the circuit has earned a reputation as a genuine driver's track, with off-camber corners and undulating surfaces that reward smooth, committed driving. Track lighting allows for night racing, and the canteen overlooking the circuit gives families and spectators a grandstand view of the whole lap.

FAQ
Is Gladstone Kart Club an arrive-and-drive centre or a racing club?
It is a member-based CIK affiliated kart racing club, where racers compete in their own karts. However, it runs Fast Karts come-and-try sessions so newcomers can try karting without owning a kart.
How long is the track?
The circuit is approximately 720 metres long. It is built into the side of a hill, with off-camber corners and an undulating surface that give it a reputation as a driver's track.
Can I try karting without my own kart?
Yes. The club's Fast Karts come-and-try sessions are aimed at newcomers and are run free of charge; you need closed-in shoes and will sign a waiver on arrival.
Does the club race at night?
The track has lighting, so the club is able to run night racing and evening sessions as well as daytime events.
How do I get started or join?
Begin with a Fast Karts come-and-try session, then follow the club's getting-started guide and Karting Australia's Get Started Karting booklet. Membership and the race calendar are managed through the club's website and Karting Queensland.
