About Jamalka Off Road Racing

Jamalka Off Road Racing is a grassroots off-road racing venue carved out of a working farm at 720 White River Road, Tumby Bay on South Australia's Eyre Peninsula โ€” roughly midway between Tumby Bay and Port Lincoln. SA farmer and off-road enthusiast Ben McNamara spent close to a year designing and building a 60-kilometre desert race circuit on his property, deliberately modelled on the style and challenge of the Finke Desert Race. The course uses existing farm roads and fence lines to remain council-compliant, and is designed to test both dirtbike and side-by-side competitors across varied, demanding terrain. The venue hosts annual multi-day race events โ€” most notably the Jamalka 360 Desert Race โ€” attracting competitors from all over Australia. On-site camping is available, giving the event a genuine expedition feel that sets it apart from circuit racing. Access to the property is tied to event scheduling rather than open walk-up riding.
