About Mount Cotton Hillclimb
Mount Cotton Hillclimb is a permanent, purpose-built hillclimb course in the Redlands, around 40 kilometres south-east of Brisbane, owned and run by the MG Car Club of Queensland. Set in natural bushland, the 946-metre sealed bitumen track winds uphill through a sequence of tight and flowing corners, with cars running one at a time against the clock โ the classic hillclimb format where it's you versus the stopwatch rather than wheel-to-wheel racing. Meetings draw a wonderfully varied field, from vintage and classic cars through to modern performance machinery and dedicated specials, all chasing a quicker time up the hill.
It's very much a community-run, grassroots motorsport venue. The relaxed paddock, friendly crowd and great viewing areas make it as enjoyable to watch as it is to drive, and the club's regular calendar of championship rounds and special events keeps the place busy through the year.
