About Pinjar Motorcycle Area
Pinjar Motorcycle Area is a state-managed off-road trail-bike and quad riding area near Nowergup, about 45 minutes north of Perth. Managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions in association with the Recreational Trailbike Riders' Association of WA, it offers a network of trails winding through around 300 hectares of pine plantation and open scrubland, with everything from beginner-friendly loops ideal for kids and newcomers through to more technical trails for experienced riders. It's open to motorcycles and quads of all engine capacities, and it's a popular, family-friendly spot to build riding confidence. You bring your own bike, and a small daily fee or an annual pass covers entry โ there's no booking required, but riders must meet the registration and safety-gear rules below.

Can I hire a bike at Pinjar?
No. Pinjar is a bring-your-own-bike riding area โ there is no hire on site. You ride your own motorcycle or quad.
How much does it cost to ride?
Entry is $8.50 per day per vehicle (for up to 12 people), or $50 for an annual pass with unlimited entry.
Do I need a licence or registration?
You don't need a road-registered bike or a driver's licence, but a non-road-registered bike must carry Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) registration from the Department of Transport.
Is it suitable for beginners and kids?
Yes. There are beginner-friendly loops well-suited to newcomers and kids, alongside more technical trails for experienced riders, making it a popular family-friendly spot.
What safety gear do I need?
A helmet, boots and protective clothing must be worn at all times while riding the trails.
