RallySchool Hunter Valley is a you-drive rally experience set on a purpose-built dirt circuit near Cessnock, in the heart of NSW's Hunter Valley wine country. You don't need any racing background or even a road licence to drive — the school supplies the rally cars and a professional instructor sits beside you, talking you through braking points, cornering and car control lap after lap as your confidence builds. Packages range from a short taste of the action right up to a half-day behind the wheel across several different cars, and every drive package also includes at least one Pro Hotlap ride alongside an experienced driver so you can feel the full pace from the passenger seat. Do I drive the rally car myself, or is it a passenger ride?
You drive. Every package except the Triple Hotlap puts you behind the wheel of a supplied rally car with a professional instructor beside you. The Triple Hotlap is a passenger-only experience for those who prefer to ride.
Do I need a driver's licence or racing experience?
No. Because you drive on a private circuit, no road licence is required, and the experience is designed for complete beginners as well as keen drivers — an instructor coaches you throughout.
How many laps do I get?
It depends on the package: the XLR8 is eight driving laps, the 2 Car Blast is sixteen laps across two cars, and the Half Day Extreme is 28–32 driving laps over three to four vehicles. Each drive package also includes one or more Pro Hotlap rides.
What is the minimum age?
The passenger Triple Hotlap is open to ages 10 and over. Confirm the minimum age to drive directly with the school when booking, as it can differ from the ride-along age.
