About Springmount Raceway
Springmount Raceway at Arriga is a quarter-mile drag strip and motorsport complex on Queensland's Atherton Tablelands, roughly an hour west of Cairns. Unlike a spectator-only speedway, this is a participation venue โ its Test & Tune days are open to street and race cars and bikes, so you can bring your own vehicle and run down the strip, making it a great place for newcomers to give drag racing a go as well as for the region's quickest machines. The venue hosts around 10 race meets a year, including a Track Champion series and the hugely popular Northern Nats and Tropical Meltdown events. Run by Mick & Jane Apps of Addictive Events, it has a friendly, family atmosphere with shaded viewing, food and a bar for spectators.

Can I drive my own car or bike there?
Yes. Springmount runs Test & Tune (Race Ya Mate) days that are open to street and race cars and bikes, with no structured racing and no limits on vehicles โ a great way for first-timers to try drag racing.
Where is Springmount Raceway?
It is on Genocchio Road at Arriga on the Atherton Tablelands, roughly an hour's drive west of Cairns and near Mareeba in Far North Queensland.
What are the big events?
The headline meets are the Northern Nats and the Tropical Meltdown, plus a Track Champion series and visiting events such as Outlaw Nitro Funny Cars and 400 Thunder Sportsman rounds. The venue runs around ten meets a year.
Is there anything for spectators?
Yes. There are shaded viewing areas, food and a bar, and a friendly family atmosphere, so it is an easy day out whether you are racing or watching.
