About Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club
Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club (OGKRC) at Clayton South is a competition kart racing club, not a public hire venue โ this is a place where members race their own karts under the rules of state body Karting Victoria and national body Karting Australia. Established for over 25 years and set about 25km south-east of the Melbourne CBD, the club runs an outdoor circuit over 900 metres long with fast straights and technical corners, plus licensed clubrooms and spectator seating for around 120. Racing centres on monthly Club Race days โ held on the last Sunday of each month โ along with three to four larger Open Race Meetings through the year. It is a genuine grassroots motorsport home: a healthy, social, family-friendly outdoor club for competitors of all ages, from cadets to seniors.

Can I hire a go-kart and just turn up to drive?
No โ Oakleigh Go Kart Racing Club is a competition kart club, not an arrive-and-drive hire venue. Members race their own karts under Karting Victoria and Karting Australia rules. There is no public hire fleet.
How do I get into the sport here?
Visit the club on a race meeting weekend to watch and talk with members and club representatives about getting started, or phone the club. New members and new drivers are welcomed.
When does the club race?
The club holds ten Club Race days a year, on the last Sunday of each month, plus three to four larger Open Race Meetings through the year.
Can I practise during the week?
Members are issued a key for track access and may practise on their own most days. The track is also made available to non-Oakleigh members in the lead-up to Open Race Meetings.
Is the club suitable for families and kids?
Yes. It's run as a healthy, safe, social outdoor activity for the whole family, with racing categories from younger cadets through to senior drivers.
