About Perth Motorplex
Perth Motorplex at Kwinana Beach is Western Australia's home of "motortainment" โ a purpose-built venue combining a quarter-mile drag strip and a dirt-oval speedway on a single site, the first venue in Australia to do so when it opened in 2000. It is primarily a race and spectator venue rather than a drive-it-yourself experience: across the season the floodlit speedway hosts sprintcar series and late-model championships, while the dragway runs ANDRA-sanctioned drag racing with top-fuel and doorslammer classes, alongside burnout competitions, roll racing, monster trucks and street-machine shows. Everyday racers can take part through Test'n'Tune and street-meet nights when the strip is running. Note that the drag strip was closed in 2025 pending a rebuild, with a new strip approved ahead of the 2026/27 season โ check the official calendar for what's currently running before you go.

FAQ
Can I drive or race at Perth Motorplex myself?
Perth Motorplex is mainly a race and spectator venue. Everyday drivers can take part by entering Test'n'Tune nights, street meets or a sanctioned racing class when the dragway is operating, rather than booking a "drive experience" product.
How long is the drag strip?
It is a quarter-mile (400 m) drag strip. Note that the original strip was closed in 2025 and a replacement was approved for the 2026/27 season, so check the official calendar for current drag racing dates.
What racing can I watch there?
The speedway oval hosts sprintcar series and late-model championships, while the dragway runs ANDRA-sanctioned drag racing with top-fuel and doorslammer classes, plus burnout competitions, roll racing and monster-truck shows.
Is it suitable for families?
Yes โ Perth Motorplex bills itself as the home of "motortainment" and many events are family-friendly nights out. It does get loud, so ear protection is a good idea for young children.
How do I get tickets?
Tickets are sold through the venue's official ticketing system, and season memberships are released each year. Check the website for the current event schedule.
