About Toowoomba Kart Club
The Toowoomba & Lockyer Valley Kart Club runs Greer Park Raceway at Helidon Spa, around 20 kilometres north of Toowoomba in Queensland's Darling Downs. This is a competition kart club, not an arrive-and-drive hire venue — members race their own karts on a sealed club circuit, and the club is clear that it does not hire karts. To race or practise you need a Karting Australia driver licence and club membership, which keeps the focus on genuine motorsport rather than one-off thrill rides. The club has a strong junior development streak, with Cadet and Junior categories alongside the senior grades, and a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere that makes it approachable for newcomers getting into the sport. Practice days run most weekends, club race meetings happen across the year, and there is food on site to turn a race day into an easy day out.

FAQ
Can I just turn up and hire a go-kart?
No. Toowoomba & Lockyer Valley Kart Club is a membership racing club and does not hire karts — competitors bring their own. If you want arrive-and-drive hire karting, this venue isn't set up for that.
What do I need to race or practise here?
You need a Karting Australia driver licence and club membership. The club can run new drivers through the requirements, so it's best to contact them before your first visit.
What classes does the club run?
The club caters for Cadet, Junior and Senior grades, including the low-cost factory-sealed 4-stroke 4SS class that's a popular entry point for newcomers and juniors.
When can I practise on the track?
Practice generally runs Friday afternoons and across Saturday and Sunday, but the track is closed on set weekends each month. Check the club's calendar and note that member and visitor practice fees apply.
Is it suitable for children?
Yes — the club has a strong junior focus with Cadet and Junior categories, and family memberships let parents and children take part together.
